This drink was my first attempt at one of our Halloween Drink Ideas shots we put together before the holidays. It was the day after Halloween, a Saturday, and we were still going strong during one of the best party weekends of the year in nearly every town. I went by the store that afternoon and picked up a six-pack of pumpkin ale—all they had was the Harvest Moon brand—and a fresh bottle of Bacardi 151. Pregaming this day consisted of me unsuccessfully trying to convince everybody to take the Pumpkin Spit shot with me. When that didn’t work, I tried to get people to do 151 shots with me while I took my new shot. That didn’t work either. I understand it was the end of a long party weekend and everybody was a little roughed up by that point, but come on, free 151.. never say no that.. please. Read

If you couldn’t tell already, the writers on this blog love to drink. We will use any type of social situation as an excuse to make up a new drink and it’s not always about the alcohol, but about the massive amounts of flavors and tastes that can be combined to make the next great drink. Even a dead Saturday night in Santa Clarita can’t stop the crew from inventing a new shot. Yes, this town is boring. In fact, I’m pretty sure if ‘Saturday night in Santa Clarita’ were a Wikipedia entry, it would be left blank for lack of anything going on. Seriously, how many times in a row does a 20-something have to show up at [insert chain restaurant bar name here] before he is declared mentally insane? With that said, Cory and I watched the Lakers win another game and then we went to that bar. I feel like this has happened before. Oh well, this is the story of the Handsome Jack. Read

Happy Birthday to me! Happy Birthday to me! And to all a good night… or something, right? This is the inaugural “Drunken Rant” post by me. I thought to myself, “Self, what better way to start out drunken rants than on the night that everyone forces you to drink disgustingness and cheer you on.” So, here I am, ranting about whatever the fuck I want because my birthday ended 6 minutes ago and counting. This is the drink that turned a blogging light bulb on in my brain. I woke up one morning at Cory’s lake house and we decided it was time to start drinking. It was our last day there, however, and there were limited drinks and mixers. Among the options were Skyy Vodka, Keystone Light, and Jose Cuervo margarita mix. I figured this mix would taste fine because in college I would mix up pitchers of lemonade concentrate, any light beer, and vodka in generously strong portions as my house jungle juice any time I would host a house party. I decided to mix up the three ingredients we had left at the lake in a big plastic cup and join Cory on the lakeside deck and figure out what to do with the day. I was pretty proud of coming up with a tasty drink with limited options, and as I was thinking about this the idea for the blog came to me. I brought it up, Cory came up with even more ideas, and we just ran with it. That’s about how I recall this blog’s concept coming up. Read

This shot looks like a thousand Lindsay Lohan jokes. It is thick, chunky, and pink with white stuff floating in it. The only redeeming thing is its taste, which is a lot like a Lynchburg Lemonade. The watery pink citrus mixing with the Bailey’s is absolutely disgusting to look at though and perfect if someone says they will drink anything. Even if they drink it, they will definitely feel like they lost a little piece of themselves. Then you can laugh. Read

This was just one of those weekday nights at the bars where everybody was over anxious to drink a few too many shots on the night. This likely had to do with the fact that people were in town for Halloween weekend to do just one thing—party of course. The night began with the relaxing idea of watching the Lakers game at happy hour with a couple beers and some food. It quickly turned into a highly energetic pub-crawl through Pacific Beach which included a random group of girls celebrating a 21st birthday and plenty rounds of dare shots. Read
